Description
Persian-style tablecloth, probably from Lyon, early 18th century, with lampas edging and polychrome silk brocade, an absinthe-green marbled satin ground, and a remarkable pineapple motif set amongst garlands of flowers and sinuous, trompe-l’œil lace ruffles. Later assembly, edged with gold-threaded braid and lined (in good condition, one seam has come undone), 104 x 107 cm. Formerly in the Tassinari & Chatel Collection.
