Long cashmere shawl, Manufacture A Duché jeune, Brière et fils circa 1865, black cruciform medallion set within a multi-lobed floral rosette, the sides decorated with a pair of palm leaves set in the centre within an ogival cartouche framed by two others featuring elongated, interlaced palm leaves. Fine cashmere weave with a cut-warp technique, 342 x 165 cm. Gold-printed ribbon on the reverse listing prestigious awards received between 1844 and 1862.
