Lampas chasuble with parakeets, probably Italy, second half of the 17th century, polychrome silk lampas, with a cream-coloured ‘gros de Tours’ ground. Decoration predominantly in shades of pink, green and straw, featuring floral motifs and scrolls of foliage, with parakeets standing back-to-back and facing each other, each holding a flowering twig in its beak. Brick-red bougran lining (back slightly sun-faded, original lamé braids added and partly missing, some damage to the lining), 115 x 71 cm.
