Replica of the tapestry known as ‘aux perdrix’, created by Philippe de Lasalle, Manufacture Tassinari & Chatel, circa 1930,
lampas border and polychrome silk weft, sea-green marbled satin ground, featuring a large, complete design repeat. Depiction of a partridge on a terrace adorned with flowers and trees, surmounted by a musical trophy and an open birdcage held in place by ribbon bows (a few discreet small stains), 210 x 70 cm.
Created around 1771–1772 for the Duchess of Bourbon’s waiting room at the Palais-Bourbon, this lampas was also used in 1772 for Catherine II at the Palace of Peterhof near Saint Petersburg.
