A replica of the famous tapestry known as ‘The Four Seasons’, woven during the reign of Louis XVI, by Manufacture Tassinari & Chatel, Lyon, late 19th – early 20th century, polychrome silk-brocaded lampas, with a cream-coloured ‘gros de Tours’ ground. Allegorical design in four panels: birds in their nests for Spring, a beehive and bees for Summer, a basket of fruit at the foot of a pomegranate tree for Autumn, and a musical trophy for Winter, 285 cm x 55 cm.
