TOPSY-TURVY Topsy-Turvy doll, circa 1930–1950, probably Germany or the United States, a beautiful and rare Topsy-Turvy doll made entirely of papier-mâché; very rare with papier-mâché arms, as these are usually made of fabric; on one side, the doll is white with two faces, one smiling and one crying, wearing a floral dress with a bonnet; on the other side, the doll is black, also with two faces, wearing a blue, white and yellow striped dress; total height 30cm; in good overall condition (some minor wear to the fingertips).
