Description
American civil rights / The fight against racism / CORE (Congress of Racial Equality). Set of 6 silver gelatin prints relating to the fight against racism in the USA. Stamps on the reverse of the photographs: ‘Ran Cochran’ (3) and ‘Mark Treitel’ (2); one print has press cuttings glued to the reverse and date stamps. Circa 1965, average dimensions 13 x 24 cm (2) and 23 x 19 cm (4). ‘CORE’ fought for civil rights and was notably a key player in the African-American movement against institutionalised racial segregation in the southern United States.
