First edition: limited edition of 306 copies, complete with 34 plates by Max Ernst and preface by Jean Arp.
One of the first 30 copies on arches vellum (nº 41), numbered and signed in pen by Max Ernst. Large paper edition after 20 copies on Japon.
A fine copy.
NOTE :
Important album of 34 frottages by Max Ernst reproduced in phototypesetting and prefaced by Jean Arp. They were selected from over a hundred frottages made by Max Ernst in 1925-1926.
This was the second book published by Jeanne Bucher (1872-1946), one year after Baroques by Jean Lurçat.
