Pierre FONTAINE Decorations for the royal session room in the Louvre, with the numerals H and C, griffin motifs and cherubs representing the arts Relief of a capital and entablature of the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina Five drawings, pen and black ink, four on tracing paper. 51 x 38 cm, 61 x 46 cm and 86 x 62 cm Annotated with the place on the mount (3). (Accidents). The former guards' room was one of the few refurbishments undertaken under the reign of Louis XVIII, in 1819, who commissioned its conversion into a royal session room for the meeting of the Chambers. The choice of ornamental motifs was inspired by the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina in Rome.
