Elisa Rachel Félix (1821-1858), known as Rachel, is considered to be one of the greatest French actresses. She joined the Comédie Française in 1838, aged just seventeen. She died of tuberculosis in Le Cannet. Her grandiose funeral at Père Lachaise was attended by a huge crowd. Her tomb was built in 1860.
