Paris: published by Michel Brunet, 1694, 8vo, (8), 115, 13 pp. Marbled full calf, decorated ribbed spine, title label, speckled edges First edition of the verse translation of the Psalms of David. Both a painter and an engraver, Mademoiselle Chéron was regarded as the Sappho of her time. Voltaire paid tribute to her in his *Siècle de Louis XIV*. 12 etchings by Louis Chéron, the author’s brother. Bound together with: *Ode françoise* by M. de Senece, translated into Latin by M. Boutard, based on Mademoiselle Chéron’s verse translation of the Psalms.
