PANCIROLLI (Guido): *Notitia utraque, dignitatum cum orientis, tum occidentis, ultra arcadii honoriique tempora*… *Commentarium* by the same author on municipal magistrates. Lyon: Jean de Gabiano 1608, 5 parts in one folio volume, 208 folios (incorrectly paginated as 225), 35 folios (incorrectly paginated as 25) (13) folios. Title page printed in red and black. An overview of civil and military organisation at the end of the Roman Empire (5th century) in both the East and the West. New (3rd) edition, expanded with commentaries by Panciroli (1523–1599) and illustrated with around a hundred woodcuts in the text, based on a 1552 edition. Soft parchment, smooth spine, 17th-century binding. A fine copy in its original binding. Parchment loss at the edges of the covers, creases, a small ink stain and some soiling on the title page, minor water stains at the edges of the first few leaves. Provenance: M.S. Cigiranni, with a handwritten ex libris on the title page (17th century)
