Paris, Montalant, 1730, in-4, [12]-646 pp., illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of the Duke of Epernon by Scottin. Second edition of this biography of Jean-Louis de Nogaret de La Valette, Duke of Epernon. Full calfskin binding bearing the coat of arms of the Duke of Orléans, decorated ribbed spine, red title label, escutcheon-shaped metal fittings on the covers, red edges. Awarded on 23 August 1764 at the College of Montargis to Jacques Antoine de Combes de Morelles; the flyleaf bears an annotation by the college prefect, as well as notes by the pupils regarding gifts from the de Coustine family and his departure to serve as a page to the King.
