Set of three 18th-century volumes - Caraccioli, Louis Antoine (Marquis): The Life of Pope Clement XIV (Ganganelli) Published by the Widow DESAINT, Bookseller. Paris, 1775. - Abbé de MABLY: Observations on the History of Greece, or on the Causes of the Prosperity and Misfortunes of the Greeks. 1789 Geneva, François Dufart and Paris, Volland, 1789. - LUNA, Alvaro de. [1388–1453]: History of the Constable of Lune, Favourite of John II, King of Castile and León Jombert, Paris, 1720. One volume, in-12, xxxii–333–[2] pp. First edition of the translation. Printing licence granted to Pierre Prault in January 1719 and transferred by him to Jombert in April of the same year. :: Alvaro de Luna, a Spanish statesman (1388–1453), was appointed Constable in 1423. A champion of royal authority, he tried in vain to subdue the nobility and led them into the struggle against the Moors (from whom he received money!).
