Various nets for fishing … and for hunting… by Noël Chomel, priest, parish priest of St Vincent’s parish in Lyon, Paris: published by the widow of Etienne Ganeau, 1740, fourth edition, two folio volumes, 1656 columns and c (100) columns of tables (volume 1), 1,570 columns and lxxvi columns of tables (volume 2). The work was supplemented by two further volumes in 1743, comprising 3 pp. and 1,638 columns (volume 1) and 1,324 columns, totalling 3,000 pages printed in two columns with numerous sketches and illustrations. Full marbled calfskin, spine with six raised bands, panels decorated with lotus motifs, red title labels and black volume numbering, double gilt fillets on the edges, red edges. Volume 1: title page torn; volume 2: upper cap damaged and upper joint split; half-title page with a small tear; some corners worn; lower edges rubbed.
