One separate plate and numerous copperplate engravings within the text. Contemporary full calf binding, ribbed spine, decorated panels, gilt fillet and fleurs-de-lis in escutcheons on the covers, handmade paper endpapers, red edges, title and volume number labels in morocco leather. The coat of arms of the Collège Mazarin or Collège des Quatre Nations (now the Institut), M. H. Reverdy’s ex-libris in volume 2, severe water damage with significant deterioration to the first and last leaves, a pastiche title label, warped binding, and Volume 2 darker in colour than Volume 1.
