DINO-RIDERS The Dimetrodon (Series 2) – IDEAL FRANCE, 1988 MAIL-AWAY EXTREMELY RARE – A centrepiece of the IDEAL France Dino-Riders collection. The unique feature of the French version of the Dimetrodon was that it was impossible to buy it in shops. To get it, you had to buy other dinosaurs, and on the back of the comic book supplied with the figures, the instructions were clear: you had to cut out points from other French boxes and send them in, for a chance to receive it in return from IDEAL France. Very few boxed copies are still in circulation today, unlike the international versions. For the French set, the Dimetrodon is almost legendary, a true historical artefact in the history of French toys.
