Description
An 18-carat gold (750e) pendant known as a ‘Croix badine’, adorned with oval facetted garnets set in a closed setting on a base, within an openwork beaded design featuring scrolls. Made in France. Gross weight: 20.70 g. Dimensions: 8 x 6.6 cm. The ‘croix badine’ is an iconic piece of jewellery originating from Occitanie. Traditionally, the finest examples are set with garnets, a stone particularly prized in jewellery from the South-West. This piece owes its name to its lower section, known as the ‘badine’, referring to the slight swaying motion it makes when worn.
