With dedication and signature: Post tenebras lux, Historique de la Découverte Improprement nommée Daguerréotype, précédé d'une notice sur son véritable inventeur, Feu M. Joseph-Nicéphore Niépce, de Chalon-sur-Saône, par son Isidore Niépce, Paris, Astier Libraire, Août 1841.
