Description
Richebourg" camera, with several accessories, circa 1845-50. As is. N.B. Jean-Marie PRADES: Richebourg camera. Circa 1845-1850. Format 1/4 plate. Richebourg objective: 29, Quai de l'Horloge. - Pierre Ambroise Richebourg (1810-1874), optician and photographer, was trained and employed by Vincent Chevalier. Following the latter's death in 1842, he took over the workshops at 69 Quai de l'Horloge, which became 29 after payment. Having worked as a maid, he was reputed to be an excellent optician. He made all sorts of equipment in his speciality, including photography. A pupil of Daguerre, who taught him the Daguerreotype, he was one of the first to present images rectified by means of a mirror (...).
