Description
In box, "Le Scénographe" camera, 8 x 11, circa 1874. Includes a tripod and an E. Actinoscope. Enjalbert. As is. N.B. Jean-Marie PRADES: Small model. Format 8 x 11 cm. The tripod mounting differs from one model to another. On the large model, the support consists of a copper cone to which three small copper tubes of different diameters are soldered, into which the three tubes of the tripod are inserted. A ball-and-socket joint with locking screw allows the device to be adjusted. The cane-foot is made of three interlocking tubes. The outer tube is made of bamboo, while the other two are made of iron. On the small model, the support (also known as the kneepad) consists of a copper triangle, topped at the top by a threaded rod for fixing to the lower board of the device. Three small spheres of different diameters are soldered to the lower part of the triangle. Each sphere is inserted into its corresponding tube, forming a tripod when the three tubes are connected at the top by a rubber band. The frames are lined and made from very light wood. On the other hand, the shutters are still made of cardboard on both models, as is the partition separating each glass. The camera is therefore very simple in design, which sets it apart from the classic cameras of the time, such as the heavy, cumbersome travel chambers used with wet collodion. Visuals and texts " Autour d'une collection 2 " Collection JMP Club Niépce Lumière, p. 63. Expert Isabelle Cazeils. Provenance: Jean-Marie PRADES Collection. In the box, the device 'Le Scénographe'.
