Description
Dubroni Paris "Le Stéréographe" camera, Type 2, 11 x 15, no. 697, with "Darlot Paris" rack and pinion and brass lens. Circa 1885. As is. N.B. Jean-Marie PRADES: Manufactured and distributed by Dubroni in Paris. Darlot lens. Format 11 x 15 cm. The Dubroni catalogue of 1885 proposes two models of Stereograph: Model n°2 which resembles the Candèze Scenograph, and Model n°1, similar to the Plücker Stereograph. Model no. 2: the device is made entirely of wood. Here too, the traditional bellows of the chambers were replaced by a light-tight fabric pocket. Tensioners were used to give rigidity to the pocket, which acted as a darkroom. The turnbuckles are attached to the camera and hinged. The Stereograph came in 4 formats: 9 x 12 cm, 11 x 15 cm, 13 x 18 cm and 18 x 24 cm, and was presented in a wooden box complete with all the accessories and products needed for dry plate photography. The camera was supplied with simple achromatic lenses, and sometimes with more elaborate lenses, at the customer's request, such as the Darlot (...).
