With bag, Gaumont "L'Hémérascope" laboratory camera, with Zion F120 mm lens and accessories, 9 x 12, circa 1897. As is. N.B. Jean-Marie PRADES: Laboratory camera manufactured by Gaumont. Distributed by the Société de l'Hémérascope. Format 9 x 12 cm. Zion lens F=120 mm. Camera designed by Captain François Emile Rimailho. Patent no. 269 637 granted to Deville and Rimailho on 14 August 1897. The Hémérascope, which means 'I see in broad daylight', belongs to the family of laboratory cameras. After the picture is taken, it is developed in the camera, to avoid being locked away in a dark laboratory and, above all, to obtain a photo more quickly. (...).
