Kodak George Eastman "Kodak Original" camera. Case no. 1418. Circa 1888. As is. N.B. Jean-Marie PRADES : 57 mm F/9 rectilinear lens. Ball shutter. This camera was produced in approximately 5,000 units. This first Kodak was successively called 'Original Kodak Camera' then 'The Kodak Camera' and finally 'N°1 Kodak Camera'. This was the first Kodak model to use the flexible film known as 'Stripping Film' or 'American Film'. Distributed by Eastman Dry Plate and Film, the camera was designed to take 100 round frames measuring 6.5 cm in diameter. It was designed by Georges Eastman and Franck Brownel, and the shutter by Yawman and Erbe. The lens was made by Bausch and Lomb (...).
