Description
Michel MORTIER (1925–2015) ‘10497’ Design created in 1972. Large three-light living room lamp resting on a tulip-shaped base in white lacquered aluminium, topped with a large circular reflector in white opaline glass. Early VERRE LUMIERE edition, circa 1970. Height: 58.5 cm Original reflector. Archives and comparative examples: - Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Saint-Étienne Métropole – Several studies and preparatory drawings corresponding to the design of our lamp are held in the Michel Mortier Collection. - Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris – A similar model with a buff-coloured lacquered base, erroneously identified as ‘Lamp 10576’, is held in the museum’s collections under inventory number 2013.53.2.
