Description
Gisèle SIDOTI, known as "Sido" (1934–1986) and François THEVENIN (1931–2016)
Design created around 1970.
High-backed chair in hammered, black-lacquered wrought iron, with a seat and backrest in brown leather, stretched and riveted.
The curule-style base is joined by an ‘H’-shaped brace with a mesh crossbar.
Early Sawaya and Moroni edition.
Height: 132 cm
Width: 48 cm
Depth: 48 cm.
Shows signs of wear.
Note:
The collaboration between Sido and François Thévenin blends sculpture and artistic metalwork through a complementary process in which Sido designs organic motifs inspired by nature and François shapes molten metal, an artistic symbiosis that finds its fullest expression in their poetic furniture designs and their major architectural projects for the villas of architect Jacques Couëlle.
