Joe COLOMBO (1930–1971) ‘4801’ or ‘interlocking chair’ Model designed in 1963. Pair of low armchairs in thermoformed wood, originally lacquered orange and re-lacquered black. The seat and backrest are upholstered with black leather cushions. Produced by Kartell around 1970. Height: 59 cm Width: 71 cm Depth: 63 cm Minor chips and cracks in the lacquer. Note and comparative piece: Model 4801, designed by the artist in 1963, was only in production from 1964 to 1975. The Centre Pompidou (MNAM) holds several examples, including one with the inventory number AM 1993-1-810.
