Description
Marc PETIT (born in 1961) ‘The Angel’s Wound’ Large bronze cast with a brown patina. Height: 205 cm Marc Petit began sculpting at the age of fourteen in Cahors, under the guidance of René Fournier and Jean Lorquin, who introduced him to modelling and encouraged him to reflect on the art of sculpture. Since the 1980s, he has developed a body of work devoted primarily to the human figure, populated by solitary and enigmatic silhouettes in bronze, plaster or terracotta. Through these works, he explores the human condition, memory, time and the transformation of matter. His work, which has been widely exhibited in France and abroad, is characterised by a deeply personal figurative approach.
