Oil on canvas. Signed ‘Liu’ and dated 1944 in the lower left-hand corner.

Provenance: held by the family of the subject to the present day.
According to the owners, the artist may have been a painter named Liu Ven Sing. The father of the current owners is said to have met the painter whilst he was studying at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
