Early 20th-century VIETNAMESE school: Montparnasse station. Oil on canvas. Signed ‘Liu’ and dated 1940 in the lower left-hand corner. 60 x 73 cm According to the owners, the artist may have been a painter named Liu Ven Sing. The father of the current owners is said to have met the painter whilst he was studying at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
