CHINA – Kangxi Period (1662–1722) Porcelain ginger jar decorated with round reserved areas featuring birds amongst flowers (a phoenix amongst peonies, ducks amongst lotuses and a crane amongst chrysanthemums), and fan-shaped or square medallions featuring birds, insects or landscapes, all set against a powder-blue background decorated with gold enamel motifs of abundance, lotus flowers, fish, bouquets of flowers and a ruyi frieze. The lid is missing. (wear to the gold enamel, small firing bubble, crack). Height: 30 cm. Wooden plinth. Reference: A similar piece is held at the Musée Condé, Chantilly, no.
