Description
Fragrance box, Paris 1750–1756. This square-shaped box, crafted from violet wood marquetry, reveals a mercury mirror beneath its lid. Entirely lined with blue silk and its original trimmings, it comes complete with four cut-glass perfume bottles fitted with their silver stoppers, a round ointment dish with a scalloped rim, a funnel, and a miniature silver goblet on a small pedestal. The goblet and the dish bear the hallmark for small articles. The bottles and the funnel bear the hallmark for small articles for the period 1762–1768. Complete with its key. Height of the vials: 9 cm (The stoppers are attached to the vials’ mounts by a small metal chain. Slight distortions and knocks on the dish, the goblet and the funnel. Height: 11 cm, width: 13 cm, depth: 13 cm. Gross weight: 304 g.
