An exceptional and very fine Hereke, Turkey, circa 1970–1975 Prayer-rug Silk pile, woven with gold threads on a silk ground Density: approx. 12/13,000 knots per dm² Signed Hereke Ivory field decorated with a mirhab in the shape of a wavy flask, adorned with a suspended oil lamp surrounded by garlands of finely rendered polychrome flowers and foliage. An original floral composition forms a stylised vase framed by two columns, creating a remarkable sense of balance.
