Vermeil sewing kit, Louis XVI period, late 18th century.
The golden-brown calfskin case, featuring a pattern of small ironwork in the form of scattered blossoms, contains a vermeil sewing set engraved with a multicoloured floral design. It comprises a needle holder, a pair of scissors, a thimble, an awl and a darning needle.
