Description
NEVERS, late 18th century Earthenware plate with a scalloped rim, decorated in shades of blue with a central depiction of Saint Andrew. Inscription: “André Normand, parish priest of Seriguy. 1774.” Braided trim on the rim. Diameter: 22.5 cm Restorations, chips in the glaze. Chips on the rim. André Normand is recorded as having been parish priest at Seriguy in the Vienne department in the late 18th century. Provenance: Collection of Mr Camille GAUCHER (1908–1989), then passed down through inheritance.
