A rare rack-wound clock in chiselled and gilded bronze, decorated with a trophy, banners and a radiant sun with a face at its centre.
The black and white enamelled dial features Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes, with a day-of-the-month indicator, signed ‘Mosbrucker à Saverne’.
Rack-and-pinion winding mechanism, meeting-wheel escapement.
The brass rack rests on a moulded, gilded wooden base in the form of a truncated fluted column (wear to the gilding).
Under a glass dome.
