PARIS – 18th arrondissement. An eight-drawer chest of drawers in rosewood veneer, featuring butterfly-wing motifs set within amaranth fillet frames. It has bevelled side panels resting on slightly curved front legs. Gilded bronze ornamentation, including pull rings and lock plates. Top in breccia marble, moulded in a ‘bec de corbin’ style. Louis XV–Louis XVI transitional period, circa 1770. Height: 165 cm Width: 61 cm Depth: 40 cm Routine restoration work, a crack Provenance: Collection of Mr Camille GAUCHER (1908–1989), then passed down through inheritance.
