Henri RIVIERE (1864–1951) The Wave. 1893. Colour lithograph on thin vellum, published in Album IV of *L’Estampe Originale*, bearing the red monogram stamp. Dedicated and signed in pencil in the bottom right-hand corner. Sent ‘to his friend Laumann, in memory of a good friendship’. (E.M. Laumann, whose full name was Charles Ernest Laumann, writer, journalist and art critic, a friend of Rivière’s). H. 29 x W. 45.5 cm. Sheet size: 32 x 47.5 cm. P. Eckert Boyer, Ph. Dennis Cate 69. P. Gamet, pl. 24. Slightly yellowed and faded, margins trimmed, traces of glue and paper residue on the edges, mounted on card, small loss in the top right-hand corner.
