A rectangular inkwell in mahogany with patinated and gilt-bronze mounts and crystal, attributed to Martin-Guillaume Biennais, first half of the 19th century It features two bowls and four feather-shaped handles; in the centre is a putto holding a laurel wreath; the base opens to reveal two small side drawers and is decorated with mythological motifs. (minor chips, slight tarnish), 21cm wide, 9cm deep, 24cm high (8in wide, 3 1/2in deep, 9in high).
