A 19th century large inkwell in ebonized wood with red tortoiseshell marquetry and gilt-bronze Decorated with a marquetry design of mother-of-pearl and gilded metal flowers, the central section features a cup surrounded by four kneeling cherubs and two shells. (Slight lifting, a few chips, oxidation) 40cm in diameter, 12cm high (15 1/2in in diameter, 4 1/2in high).
