189. An important Louis XVI portico clock with musical case The clock in white and blue Turquin has four columns topped with flowered vases and in the center the white enamel dial with Roman numerals for the hours, the base with truncated columns is enhanced with two biscuit figures. The rectangular box in white marble and gilt bronze, carved with a decor of pilasters, friezes of foliage, and rosettes, opens on a roll of mechanical music (as it is, accidents, oxidation, lack of bronze elements; its two pieces were not born together). The clock 52cm high, 40cm wide, 16cm deep; the box 34cm high, 45cm, wide, 28cm deep, 27cm wide, 45cm deep, 85cm high (10 1/2in wide, 17 1/2in deep, 33in high).
