190. Nast. A mantel clock in biscuit and gilt-bronze, first half of the 19th century The movement and dial, with white enamel chapter ring and black Roman numerals, signed "Le Roy Hr de Madame à Paris", are set within an octagonal case surmounted by a figure of Venus seated on a cushion, lifting the veil covering two Cupids asleep in a nest; the rectangular base with canted corners is embellished with a bronze frieze depicting a bacchanal (minor chips, damage to the foot and the front right support, small crack, chip, crack and minor losses to the dial, lacking the rear bezel), 24.5cm wide, 10.5cm deep, 40cm high (9 1/2in wide, 4in deep, 15 1/2in high).
