217. A mantel clock à la naissance du duc de Bordeaux in gilt-bronze, first half of the 19th century The interior scene depicts the Duchess of Berry nursing Prince Henry, with Princess Marie-Thérèse kneeling beside her. The architectural background, featuring drapery and swan-neck mouldings, is adorned with a clock face. The rectangular base features three panels depicting the different stages of the Duke of Bordeaux's education: music, reading and writing. (slight dent on the back, some parts need reattaching, no key, no balance wheel, movement requires servicing) , 31cm wide, 15cm deep, 45cm high (12in wide, 5 1/2in deep, 17 1/2in high).
