A brown-ground Sèvres sugar bowl and cover, circa 1808 The sugarbowl decorated with Empire-style gilding consisting of scrollwork and palmettes on a caramel-brown ground, the cover with a brown gradient ground, marked with "Sèvres 8" stamped in underglaze-red, 11.5cm wide, 10cm deep, 13cm high (4 1/2in wide, 3 1/2in deep, 5in high).
