Signed No. 156452 H: 5 cm Stemming from an exceptional artistic background, the collection of Colette Gazanion, known as Colette Gaza, bears witness to her close ties with the worlds of art and fashion. The daughter of the poet Édouard Gazanion, she grew up surrounded by figures such as Francis Carco, Apollinaire, Max Jacob, Picasso, Braque and Chagall. A music-hall singer, she later moved in the circles of haute couture and the arts. Her husband, an industrialist with Steiner Frères, amassed for her a significant collection of beautifully crafted paintings, fine jewellery from leading houses, as well as high-end, futuristic designer furniture, reflecting the style of its owner.
