Bas-relief portraits depicting, in profile and as busts, the good King Henry IV and the loyal Maximilien de Béthune, Duke of Sully, cast in iron (with signs of oxidation). Set in oval frames with gilded decoration. (with some damage). 19th century. Height: 19.3 cm – Width: 15.5 cm – Frame: Height: 29 cm – Width: 28 cm Similar bronze bas-reliefs on a marble background are held at the Louvre Museum, no. GML 7995/2 – a donation by Alfred Chauchard (1821–1909). Lot from a voluntary sale.
