Bronze with a nuanced light brown patina, signed (parts missing, including the rifle; slight wear to the patina).
Total height: 54 cm
Son of the sculptor Alexandre Gueyton (1818–1862), who created the ‘Allegory of the Crimean War’, now in the Musée d’Orsay, he was steeped in the patriotic atmosphere of the second half of the 19th century.
