Octave Mirbeau (1848–1917), writer and playwright, and Sacha Guitry (1885–1951) L’Epidémie, a one-act play Original autograph manuscript, fair-copied and written in brown ink by Octave Mirbeau himself 18 pp. in-4 mounted on tabs 23.5 x 19.5 cm Full red morocco binding, spine with five raised bands set with black fillets, gilt initials on the spine, interior lining in red morocco, decorated with a frame of five fillets alternating gilt and blind-stamped fillets, endpapers and half-ends of marbled paper with a combed pattern in autumnal colours (ochre, sienna, water green), signed by Marius-Michel, one of the most talented and prestigious bookbinders of his time. A precious copy in very fine condition, enhanced on one of the endpapers by an autograph dedication signed by Sacha Guitry addressed to his loyal friend René Benjamin He was my best friend. I loved him. You are my very best friend. I love you.
