Baroud 40: The French Army’s Retreat in May–June 1940 Henri Curtil and Etienne Morin Baroud 40 Paris, Editions d’histoire et d’art, 1945 12 lithographed plates depicting scenes from the exodus of May–June 1940, the resistance and the retreat of the French army under German attacks and bombardments. These scenes were witnessed by Etienne Morin in northern France and sketched in pencil whilst he was a prisoner in a German Oflag (prisoner-of-war camp for officers), then presented and published in 1945 as a souvenir album by Henri Curtil Title page, with an illustrated and titled cover (accdts) 47 x 33 cm
