This modular bookcase is part of the "Infinito" system, designed by Franco Albini in the 1950s to respond to an innovative idea in modern furniture: that of an airy, adjustable structure that can be adapted to the different volumes of the home. Conceived as interior architecture in its own right, it combines rational rigour with Italian elegance.
The vertical uprights, which can be adjusted between floor and ceiling, allow the pedestals and shelves to be freely organised, in line with the principle of balance and transparency so dear to the designer.
